As the 2019 racing season is approaching the northeast region, the ULMS Racing Series have announced that both UEMS Modified Series and United 4 Cylinder Series will have no events in 2019.

The UEMS Modified Series operated for 10 years with Randy Hall, Joel Watson, Carl McKinney, Steve Dixon and Josh Ferry winning titles, while the U4CS was a new concept in 2018 brainstormed by ULMS series co-owner, Mandy Knapp, to provide the low budget 4 cylinder teams extra money events throughout the year. “All the series fun shouldn’t be just for the higher level divisions,” stated Mandy. “We need to think about the little guy, too.”

“I am very disappointed in having to shut down the UEMS tour as I love the modified division,” stated ULMS Racing Series founder and President, Chris Zuver. “The tour had a huge following several years ago, but the last few years, for several reasons, we have lost car count and tracks that run the open modified division in our region and that definitely has not helped our cause. Last year with only a handful of events, and two of them having real low car counts, didn’t help in trying to rebuild the series to where it was in 2013 when we had 26 events. In reality, we have had only two venues contact us about possible dates in 2019 for the UEMS modifieds and no contact and interest in the 4 cylinder program,” stated Zuver.
