STRONGSTOWN, PA (August 22, 2021) – this Friday, August 27, at Dog Hollow Speedway. Chris Zuver’s Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Super Late Model Series stops in for a $3000 to win Special.
A good field of quality Super Late Models is expected to be on hand Friday night. Max Blair is the current ULMS North Region and National point leader of the series. Drivers expected to be on hand include ULMS Chew on This Jerky Rookie of Year Deshawn Gingerich, Mike Wonderling, Jared Miley and Alex Ferree. Other possible entries include Wyatt Scott, Chub Frank and Greg Oakes among others.
Dog Hollow drivers we are expecting to be on hand to defend their home tur are Dave Blazavich, Michael Lake, who has a ULMS win at Dog Hollow in the past, Joe Peytak, Del Rougeux, John Wayne Weaver, Billy Eash, Dan Angelicchio, Ryan Christoff, Chad McClellan and Clint Hersh.
The ULMS has made numerous appearances at the Northern Cambria oval over the past several years. Their last visit was on June 15, 2019 and Max Blair was the big winner. In their last five appearances Blair has won two with Michael Lake and Kyle Hardy winning in 2018 and Alex Ferree in 2017. Blair is also the track record holder at Dog Hollow Speedway. In the 2019 race Blair broke Josh Richards track record of 16.782 with a new time of 16.137. All year the track has been extremely racy from top to bottom and perhaps another record will be broken. Can a sub 16 second lap be run? We will find out Friday night!!
Joining the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Super Late Models will be the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Models, Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders and the AMSOIL/Ron’s Collision Center RUSH Stock Cars plus Pure/Strictly Stocks.
If you have attended any of the big Super Late Model shows at the Dog Pound you have to remember some of the great side by side battles. In 2011 we had Devin Friese’s exciting win in the Inaugural Connor Bobik Memorial when he beat out Jason Covert in a long battle for the lead. Don’t forget Dan Angeliccho passing Devin Fries coming out of turn four on the last lap in the Flyin’ Floyd Kline Klassic. Who can remember Kyle Hardy driving from 23rd spot to win the 2nd Annual Thunder Dog Finale in 2015? Even Scott Rhodes’ photo finish win over Clate Copeman in 2012.
Great Super Late Model racing action is no stranger to the speedway. We are hoping to see more of the same this coming Friday night, August 27. The Dog Pound will see the Super Lates Howling around fast and smooth 3/8 mile clay track. Hope to see everyone for an exciting night of racing action.
Bring out a new fan to see the action with Racing at 7:30 PM. Pit Gates open 5PM with Grandstands 6PM. Admission will be $20 for grandstand, 18 for Seniors & Veterans, 12 & under FREE. Pits will be $35.
