For the first time since 2018, the Zimmer Service Center United Late Model Series returns to its home track, McKean County Raceway on Thursday night to kick off the tracks reopening night event that was postponed in April. The series will also make its first ever visit to Wayne County Speedway in Wooster, Ohio and its first visit to Tri City Raceway Park since April of 2018 on Sunday night. All three events will pay $3000 to the winner.
Thursday, May 20, the stars of the Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series North Region roll into McKean County Raceway. The track has hosted many ULMS events in its past 20 years will once again be big part of the ULMS North Region in 2021. Current points, show Michael Norris of Sarver, PA sitting on top of the ULMS North Region points over 2015 series champion, Jared Miley and defending three time series champion and current ULMS South Region and National point leader, Max Blair. Joining them will be ULMS Chew on This Jerky ULMS Rookie of Year contenders, Ryan Scott, Deshawn Gingerich and Cody Egner will all be on hand.
Pits open at 4pm on Thursday night with grandstands opening at 5pm. Adult admission is $16 with seniors being admitted at $12 and kids 11-16 of age also at $12 and all pit passes are $35. ULMS Registration is tentatively scheduled to end at 6:45PM with ULMS Driver meeting at 6:50PM followed by hot laps and ULMS Integra Shocks Qualifying and racing at 7pm. McKean County Raceway utilizes the AMB/MyLaps transponders for all timing and scoring and there will be no rentals available. Joining ULMS will be the weekly RUSH crate late models, RUSH Pro Mods, Pure Stocks, Mini Stocks and Kids mini stock classes.
On Saturday, May 22, the ULMS Late Model Series will head to Wayne County Speedway in Wooster, Ohio. The first ever visit to the Buckeye state oval for the series will see track hot shoe, Doug Drown who owns a pair of ULMS wins the past two years defending his home turf against Blair, Gingerich and Ryan Scott. Mitch Caskey currently leads the Wayne County points over Ryan Markham who recently picked up his 70th career win at the track.
Pits and grandstand gates open at 3pm on Saturday with ULMS Registration closing at 5:30PM followed by ULMS driver meeting at 5:40PM and hot laps beginning at 6pm followed by ULMS Integra Shock Qualifying and racing at 7pm. Joining the ULMS Late Models will be the Modifieds, super stocks, mini stocks and mod lite divisions. ULMS teams are reminded that Wayne County uses both the Westhold and MyLaps transponder for all scoring and timing.
On Sunday, the ULMS Late Model Series roll into Franklin, PA to the half mile oval of Tri City Raceway Park for the first time in three years. This will be the only visit of the year by the super late models to the Venango County half mile oval and it will pay $3000 to win, just as the previous two events on the weekend.
The 30 lap event will no doubt see Blair in the field as the track being located 20 miles from his home. A good contingent of western PA teams are expected including, Norris, Miley, Ryan Scott, Gingerich, and several others for the return of the super late models to Tri City Raceway Park.
Pits open at 2pm on Sunday with grandstands opening at 4pm. Adult admission is $20 for ages 16 and up and students ages 11-16 are $12 and all pit passes are $35. ULMS times for driver meeting, registration closing and hot laps will be announced as we get closer to race day. Racing does begin at 6pm Sunday night at Tri City Raceway Park. Joining the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series will be the 305 sprint cars as they will also have a make up event also.
