The 2016 Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Racing Series closes out the 2016 racing season for the ULMS Late Models and the UEMS Emods over the next three weekends at three different western Pennsylvania tracks with payouts over $95,000!Sunday, September 18 will see both series visiting Mark Tatalovic, Tri City Raceway Park in Franklin PA for the first time this year for the annual APPLEFEST. The Zimmers ULMS Late Model Series will be led by Waterford’s Dave Hess Jr. , while the UEMS Emod Series will see Ischua, New York’s, Rich Michael Jr. leading the open wheel contingent.
Defending series champion, Jared Miley won last year’s lone, ULMS late models series event at Tri City. Miley currently holds the seventh place in the point standings. The ULMS Late Model teams will be running a 30 lap main event paying $3000 to win and $300 to start event. ULMS rules and procedures will be in force, which includes the Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder rule along with red AMB transponders being used for hot lap group time trial qualifying and scoring. Entries expected on along with series point leader, Hess and Miley are local favorites Max and his father Rob Blair, Matt Lux, Greg Oakes, John Volpe, Charlie Powell, Bobby Rohrer, Doug Eck and many others. ULMS Entry fee is $30.00.
Rich Michael of Ischua is coming fresh off running the IMCA Summer Nationals in Boone, Iowa and is the current point leader over Joel Watson by 2 points. Watson the 2011 UEMS series champion won the final of three UEMS events last year at Tri City, while RMJ also found victory lane last year at Tri City. David Scott of Garland won the series season opening event sits fourth in points one mark behind third place and 2012 UEMS champion Carl McKinney. Slowride found victory lane last August at Tri City in the Tim Engles #68 BMS chassis. Other expected entries on hand will be hometown drivers, Shawn Shingledecker and Matt Lux plus Alan Atkinson, Troy Johnson, Mike Potosky and the all-time Emod winner at Tri City Raceway Park, the return of the 2014 UEMS Champion, Brent Rhebergen.
The UEMS Emods will also follow ULMS Racing Series procedures and red AMB transponders will be used for scoring. Race teams are reminded that UEMS tire rule is NO SOFT TIRES on the rear and it will be enforced all night long. Entry Fee for UEMS Emods is $20.
Pit and grandstand gates open at 1pm on Sunday for Tri City Raceway Park with racing beginning at 4pm. Adult admission is $20 with students (13-17yrs) $5 and Children 12 and under are free while the Family Pack (2 adults up to 4 children) $40
Week two will see both series head to the far northwestern Pennsylvania to Bob and Kathy Rohrer’s Eriez Speedway in Hammet PA for the 4th annual September Sweep Weekend. The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Models will run both nights for $4000 and $6000. If one driver SWEEPS the weekend they will get additional $2000 for a possible $12,000 weekend. Only “Big Brother” Dan Stone of Thompson PA has swept the September Sweep and he did that the inaugural year. The UEMS Emods will be running a two day show paying $2000 to win.
The past three September Sweep events have seen five different winners of the six events with only Dan Stone sweeping both events in the inaugural weekend in 2013. Tim Fuller and Jared Miley won events in 2014, while last year Greg Oakes and Shane Clanton put on a clinic for the ULMS portion of the weekend.
The UEMS Emods will also be running both nights with Friday night seeing their heat qualifying events being ran with the consolation and 30 lap $2000 to win main event being held on Saturday. Joel Watson won the last UEMS event last month. Track champion, David Scott will be tough to beat on his home track.
ULMS Race Procedures will be enforced in the two series events while ULMS will be hot lap qualifying as the yellow Westhold transponders will be used both nights. Rentals will be available for $30 for both days or $20 per day. Friday night will see the 40 lap $4000 to win ULMS feature plus a complete $1000 to win Econo-mod program and heats for Crates, Emods, Street Stocks and Challengers. Adult admission is $17 with kids admission is $8 and Family Pass is $42, all pit passes are $35. The ULMS Entry Fee is $30 for both days or $50 Friday night to cover both days and the UEMS Emod Entry Fee is $20.
Saturday program will see the 50 lap ULMS Late Model Series September Sweep Weekend finale along with $2000 to win 30 lap UEMS Emod Series event plus the crates late models $3000 to win Crate Late Models, $1500 to street stocks and $1000 to win Challengers. Saturday admission is $25 for Adults, Kids 412 and Family Pass is $60 and all pit passes are $40. 2 Day passes are $37 (Adults), $18 (kids), $90 (Family Pass) and Pit Passes are $70, kids under 6 are free all weekend.
The ULMS Racing Series will crown their 2016 Champions at their home track, McKean County Raceway in East Smethport PA with the 11th Annual MCR Fall Classic on September 30 and October 1st. The ULMS Late Models hightlight the weekend with the 12th annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial RaceFANS 50 paying $6000 while the UEMS Emods will finish their 2016 campaign with a $1000 to win event.
The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Models will kick off the Fall Classic weekend on Friday night with practice and group qualifying as the yellow Westhold transponders will be used. Rentals for Transponders will be $20. The ULMS teams will also run a 8 lap Dash for the top 8 qualifiers from time trials. The Emods will be running but not as a UEMS series event as MCR season championship is finalized. A full program of crate late models, street stocks, mini stocks, pure stocks and vintage modifieds will be on hand. Pits open at 3pm on Friday with Grandstands opening at 6pm and Racing at 730pm. ULMS Late Model entry fee is $50. Pit Passes are $30 with Adult grandstands $15, Youth (12-18 yrs) $10 and 11 and under are free, the Family Pack (2 adults up to 4 Kids) $40.
On day two of the Fall Classic the ULMS Late Models take center stage with their qualifying heats based from time trials the night before for the Stephanie Eckl Memorial RaceFANS 50. The UEMS Emods will have a complete program capping off the 2016 season with a $1000 to win, 25 lap season championship event. Entry Fee for UEMS will be $20.
MCR Pits will be cleared at 10:30am Saturday morning and re-opening at 11am. Grandstands open at 3pm. Pit Passes are $40, with Adult grandstand prices being $20 while Youth tickets are $15, Family Pack is $55 and all kids 11 and under are free. Camping for the weekend is $50 (some hook ups are available) and ATV passes are $10.
