The 2018 Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series season w ill come to a close on Saturday, September 28 at McKean County Family Raceway with a season ending $4000 to win championship finale at the tracks Fall Invitational weekend.
McKean County Family Raceway ends their 2018 season with their three day Fall Invitational (formerly known as Fall Classic) and the ULMS Late Model Series ends their 19 event season with the $4000 to win 35 lap main event. Max Blair of Centerville has the series title all wrapped up with his nine wins on the season, which led to his first career ULMS championship. Mike Wonderling of Wellsville NY has already been crowned the R&R Transmissions Rookie of the Year for the series.
Both Blair and Wonderling call MCFR their home track as they both have had success at the East Smethport oval over the years and Blair has two wins at MCFR in 2018, including the June ULMS event.
They are expected to be joined by Jason Dobson, Nathan Hill, Al Brewer, Garrett Mott, Rich Gardner John Rohacevich, Mike Smith, Dave Dubois are some of several teams expected on hand. Blair has won two of the past three MCFR fall events, while Rich Gardner has one fall MCFR win in 2012.
There will be a open practice Thursday night at MCFR for all classes and Friday night portion will see a unsanctioned super late model event paying $2500 to win. Thursday night practice is between 6pm and 9pm. Friday night’s activities begin at 7pm and Saturday nights racing begins at 6pm. Pit prices for practice are $30 for the driver, $20 for non drivers, Friday pit prices are $35 and Saturday’s prices are $40. There is no multi day passes being offered by MCFR. ULMS Entry Fee for Saturday’s event will be $30.
MCFR uses the AMB transponder system for scoring and transponders are mandatory for the ULMS Racing Series for the Integra Shocks Qualifying on Saturday. On Saturday, ULMS will have a quick hot lap session followed by 2 car, 2 lap qualifying session setting up the heat lineups. Raceiver frequency will be 454.000 (this is track frequency also).
