ULMS KICKS OFF 2015 AT MERCER ON MARCH 28 “CHILLER THRILLER”
Mercer Raceway Park kicks off their 2015 season, Saturday March 28 with the annual “Chiller Thriller”. The ULMS Racing Series will kick off their 15th season with both the ULMS Late Models and UEMS Emod Series on hand along with crate late models and open stock car divisions.
The ULMS Late Models will highlight the evening with the 30 lap, $3000 to win season opener. Past winners have been Gregg Satterlee, Rob Blair, Mike Knight, Keith Barbara, David Scott are few that have graced victory lane at Mercer. Mother Nature won in 2011 and the racing community hopes she don’t win the 2015 opener. Expected entrants are defending series champion, “The Captain” Jason Dupont, former series champion, Mike Knight, Barbara, Max Blair, Greg Oakes, Michael Oakes, Justin Kann, Russ King, Jared Miley, Chris Hackett, Brent Rhebergen, Bob Dorman, Doug Eck , Doug Glessner and several others.
The UEMS Emods will be part of the program with their big brother the super lates. The UEMS Emods will compete in a 25 lap, $1000 to win event. Dan Sasso, Al Brewer, Vic Vena, past winner, Greg Johnson, past champions, Steve Dixon, Carl McKinney and Joel Watson along with Mike Kinney, Dan Davies, Clayton Kennedy, Ken Zimmer, Shawn Shingledecker are some of the expected entries for the UEMS Emod Series.
Both ULMS and UEMS competitors are reminded that both series allow any brand tire to compete with. The UEMS Emod teams are not allowed to run soft compounds on the rear. ULMS weight rule is 2250# and the UEMS Emods are 2400#. Both series will HOT LAP QUALIFY for their heat race starting positions and the top finishers will redraw for the main event. ULMS Entry Fee is $30, while the UEMS Entry Fee is $20 for all competitors. Mercer Raceway Park utlilizes the RED AMB transponder system. All ULMS Racing Series teams must have a RED AMB Transponder. Rentals should be available at the track.
The ULMS Racing Series registration table will be open at 3PM. Pit Price is $35 with adult grandstand admission $17, Sr. Citizens $15 and the family pack $35. Mercer Raceway Park management has told the series racing starts at 6PM.
