Satterlee Pilot’s His Way To Close Racing Supply Victory Lane at Latrobe!

Indiana, Pennsylvania native Gregg Satterlee piloted his #22 Rocket Chassis to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane for his first victory with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series of the 2024 season on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Latrobe Speedway.

With 20 entries signed in for competition, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying that saw Alex Ferree set fast time overall in the #1c Cochran Rocket Chassis. After crossing the line he would come to a halt on the backstretch with a broken driveshaft amongst other mechanical failures. Ferree would be set to start on the pole of heat race one, but was unable to make the call as they scrambled to fix the issues. With this, Logan Zarin would take the top spot and win Rocket Chassis heat race number one, Gregg Satterlee picked up Keizer Racing Wheel heat race number two and Ryan Montgomery won Swift Springs heat race number three. Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw put Moon Twp, PA’s Logan Zarin and Fairmont, WV’s Ryan Montgomery on the front row for the thirty lap main event.

Zarin would lead them to green while Satterlee was quick to the bottom. Surging from his third starting position to the lead and wasting no time in doing so, he would put a straightway in between himself and second running Montgomery by lap nine when Colton Flinner would bring out the second caution of the main event. The field rest, Satterlee lead them to green and utilized clean air to pull ahead. Battles brewed behind your leaders as nineteenth place starter Alex Ferree charged his way up eighth. Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Dave Stamm saw heartbreak as a broken rocker arm ended his night prematurely. Kyle Lukon eyed the front and moved his way up to the third position from tenth battling late with Jared Miley and Logan Zarin. When it came the the checkered, Satterlee won by nearly three seconds over second running Ryan Montgomery, third Kyle Lukon and at the line Logan Zarin for fourth just over fifth place finisher Jared Miley. A phenomenal surface and race was put together, with driver’s, teams and fans alike applauding the efforts of Latrobe Speedway staff and management for getting the show in with the weather that had hit the speedway early on in the afternoon.

The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series thanks everyone that came out in support of the “Fall Fest 24 / Ron Schmucker Memorial” event at Latrobe Speedway. You can see the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series one more time in 2024 at Lernerville Speedway on Friday and Saturday, October 11-12, 2024 for the “Steel City Stampede / Topless Ken Schaltenbrand Sr Memorial” paying $4,500.00 to the victor and $500.00 to start. In addition it’s Championship night for both the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series and the UMP DirtCar Sanctioned Elite Motorsports United E-Mod Series.
