Satterlee Captures 22nd United Late Model Series Victory in Frank Sagi Tribute at Hagerstown Speedway
For Immediate Release: July 21, 2026
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Indiana, Pennsylvania’s Gregg Satterlee scored his first Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Presented by M&T Appliances victory of the 2026 season Sunday night at Hagerstown Speedway, capturing the $6,000-to-win Frank Sagi Tribute in dominant fashion.
Satterlee established himself as the class of the field early, building commanding leads of more than seven seconds throughout the 35-lap feature. The victory sent him to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane for the 22nd time in United Late Model Series competition, while also securing his second consecutive Frank SagiTribute victory and fourth overall in the prestigious event.
A strong field of 33 Super Late Models signed in on a beautiful 80-degree Sunday evening for the Frank Sagi Tribute following Friday night’s DVM Night of Power event. The pit area featured the United Late Model Series Elite Drivers, the Chew On This – Jerky Rookie contenders, and a talented group of Hagerstown Speedway regulars.
Fast time honors during hot laps went to Trever Feathers and Gregg Satterlee in their respective groups. During VP Racing Fuels Qualifying, Satterlee laid down the quickest lap of the night overall, while 2023 United Late Model Series Champion Tyler Emory topped Group A.
Four M&T Appliances Heat Races set the stage for the evening’s feature. Emory won Heat Race No. 1 from the pole, Shawn Shoemaker charged from third to capture Heat Race No. 2, Satterlee dominated Heat Race No. 3 by more than seven seconds, and Friday night winner Kyle Hardy claimed Heat Race No. 4. The top four finishers from each heat transferred directly into the feature, while the remaining competitors battled through two B-Mains. Ross Robinson won the first consolation, while Keith Koontz survived an eventful second B-Main that saw multiple competitors sidelined with mechanical issues before taking the green.
Following the redraw, Satterlee earned the M&T Appliances Pole Position and lined up alongside Emory to lead the field to green.
When the race began, Satterlee immediately asserted control while Emory slipped from the outside front row to fifth entering Turn 1. Hardy quickly moved into second with Shoemaker settling into third.
The race’s first caution came on lap 13 for Shaun Jones, resetting the field. On the restart, Satterlee once again pulled away with ease while, deeper in the pack, Trever Feathers and Rick Eckert worked their way toward the front.
A late caution for Feathers, who suffered a right rear flat tire while running near the front, ended his hopes of claiming the Frank Sagi Tribute. Back under green, battles raged throughout the field as Shaun Jones, Jason Covert, and Justin Weaver raced three-wide for position. Meanwhile, 2026 United Late Model Series point leader Jon Lee continued his march through the field, breaking into the top five.
Just as the field took the white flag, Tyler Bare suffered a mechanical failure in his No. 00 machine and made contact with the outside wall in Turns 3 and 4, setting up a dramatic one-lap dash to the finish.
On the final restart, Satterlee executed flawlessly, pulling away one last time to score his 22nd career ULMS victory, fourth Frank Sagi Tribute victory, and second consecutive triumph in the event. Kyle Hardy finished second, followed by Shawn Shoemaker in third.
