Carpenter WINS “30th Annual Topless 50” at Tyler County Speedway!
West Virginia native, Tyler Carpenter captured his second Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series victory of 2024 on Saturday at Tyler County Speedway over the current ULMS/Chew On This Jerky Point Leader Michael Lake. Carpenter would bring home $5,000.00 for his “Topless 50” victory in front of a home crowd.
With 22 entries, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying that saw Ryan Montgomery set fast time in his #12m Rocket Chassis. The Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver’s would dominate early on, grabbing fast time and each win! Montgomery would claim Rocket Chassis heat race number one, Logan Zarin won Keizer Racing Wheels heat race number two and Michael Lake won Swift Springs heat race number three. Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw put Parkersburg, WV’s Tyler Carpenter & Spetler, WV’s Cody Rogers on the front row.
After a swift intermission, the 30th Annual Topless 50 was set to take the green for 50 laps. Carpenter would be quick to take a commanding lead over the field. An early yellow saw several cars retire as they piled up on the exit of turn four. With back to back cautions, more teams retired which worked in the favor of 2023 “Topless 50” victor Jacob Hawkins. Initially slated to start from the 16th starting position, 10th starting Stamm would elect to start tail sliding the row up, then the 12th and 14th place starts sliding him up yet again as these were initial starts. Picking up several positions early was detrimental for the #37 team. After a long green flag run, it would end up being Tyler Carpenter crossing the line first after leading all 50 laps over Michael Lake and Jacob Hawkins.
The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series thanked everyone that came out in support of the “30th Annual Topless 50” at Tyler County Speedway which saw another historic night of racing. You can see the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series next at Bedford Speedway on Friday, August 30th for the “Labor Day 55” paying $12,055.00 to the victor.
