Friday, July 21 will see the Jay’s Automotive ULMS Late Model Series back in action as they head to the tight little bull ring of Path Valley Speedway for the NIGHT OF POWER and then the next night on Saturday July 22, the series makes its first ever appearance to Latrobe Speedway for a pair of $3500 to win events.

The Night of Power at Path Valley has become one of the most anticipated events each year on Path Valley schedule with overflowing crowds.  Last years event saw Rick Eckert grab the win and the year before rain washed away the main events.

The Jay’s Automtoive ULMS Late Model Series is led by Chew on This Jerky Rookie of Year contender, Tyler Emory of Kings George, Virginia followed by fellow Jays Auto Wrecking Elite driver, Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont WV.  Only 8 points separate the two drivers and New York’s Dylan Cecce sits in third in points with Jay’s A/W Elite driver, Dave Stamm sitting in fifth.  A quality field of entries are expected along with other Jay’s Auto Wrecking Elite teams of Logan Zarin, RJ Dallape, Braeden Dillinger, and Del Rougeux.

Regional teams expected on hand are last years winner, Eckert along with Jason Covert, Gregg Satterlee, Dillan Stake, and Path Valley regulars.   Dr. Crouse has added a $100 bonus to the top finishing limited late team that enters.   Race fans can expect to see 10 and half second laps by the Jays Automotive ULMS Late Model teams at Path Valley.

Saturday, July 22 the Jays Automotive ULMS teams travel west to the big half mile of Latrobe Speedway for another $3500 to win event paying $450 to start.  The Jay’s Auto Wrecking ULMS Elite teams are all expected to be on hand along with locals, Michael Lake and Dan Angelicchio.   A test of two tracks, one small and one quite big will present the race teams a challenge in setups.   With many central PA late model tracks not in operation this weekend a good field of cars are expected at each event.

ULMS Racing Series procedures will be in place for both events, which include Lindemuth Laser Etching Hot Lap Qualifying, 8 lap minimum qualifying heat events, consolation events and 41 lap main event. Time Trials per ULMS rules will be the following: 3 heats will be straight up; 4 heats will result in A&B group qualifying. ULMS will redraw for the feature with the top 2 heat finishers redrawing after their heats. The ULMS Late Model Series tire rule is Left Front – Open RF / LR / RR Hoosier NLMT 2, 3 or 4 LM 20 30 or 40. American Racer 44 / 48 Pro2 53/56 Siping and grooving is allowed.

Also new for 2023 is after the 3rd caution the restarts will be single file and all cautions with less than 5 laps in the feature will be single file. ULMS will still utilize the Delaware restart procedures leading up to the fourth caution to initial the single fire restarts. Also beginning this year when the second place car chooses his lane under the Delaware restart, all other positions will follow as suit (2nd place chooses outside 3rd in 4th out, 5th in and so on).

All late model teams that have not competed with ULMS in 2023 must present their cars along with safety equipment (helmet and Hans device) at pre-race safety and car inspection. Once your car has been inspected you will not need to present your safety equipment again, unless you enter a different car during the weekend.  Both tracks use the MYLAPS transponder for scoring and timing. Raceivers are mandatory and frequency will be 454.000. ULMS will be using the universal body rule for 2023 including the droop rule where the droop will be check once the Left Rear tire leaves the ground. This is the same as World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil series.

Entry Fee for each event is $75. Purse for each event will be as follows:  $3500 1700 1200 1000 800 750 700 650 625 600 500 475 450 (13th -24th).  Dont forget the three day weekend on July 28, 29 and 30th at Outlaw Speedway ($5000 to win), Hummingbird and Bradford both paying $3500 to win and $450 to start.
