Michael Norris Wins “Ken Schaltenbrand Sr. Memorial” and Steel City Stampede Buckle alongside it with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series at Lernerville Speedway!

Sarver, Pennsylvania native Michael Norris piloted his #72 Rocket Chassis to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane for his third victory with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series of the 2024 season on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at none other than his local track Lernerville Speedway.  Norris who has been dominant all of 2024 had picked up the 2024 Lernerville Speedway Track Championship.

With 21 entries signed in for competition, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying that saw LLE Elite Driver Michael Lake set fast time overall in his #27 Longhorn Chassis powered by ProPower Racing Engines.  Lake would lead them to green in Rocket Chassis Heat Race number one, a late race restart saw Lernerville Speedway standouts Colton Flinner and Michael Norris make the pass to finish P1 and P2, Miley would be third and Lake fell to fourth.  Tyler Deitz led them off in Keizer Racing Wheels Heat Race number two.  Montgomery and Zarin were to action advancing positions, running P2 and P3, Montgomery made contact with LLE Elite Driver, Logan Zarins #1z Rocket Chassis sending him around in turn three.  Lined back up, Montgomery advanced to lead quickly while finishing in P1 over Ken Schaltenbrand and Tyler Dietz. Zarin would battle his way back to fourth. Alex Ferree led Swift Springs Heat Race number three to green leading multiple laps before spinning out in the middle of turn four.  Lined back up, Cecce would take the top spot and lead the remainder of the race.  Ferree came from the tail back to second over third finishing LLE Elite Driver Dylan Cecce.   Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw put Fairmont, WV’s Ryan Montgomery and Pittsburgh, PA native Colton Flinner on the front row for the topless “Ken Schaltenbrand Sr Memorial” thirty lap main event.

Levi Yetter and Ken Schaltenbrand paced the field in memory of Ken Schaltenbrand Sr during the four wide salute. Once concluded, Montgomery and Flinner led them to green while rows back, Michael Norris was already charging his way to the front. A race to the top side of the speedway ensued which made Lernerville locals standout showing just how tough it is to run on the topside of the speedway!  The near green to checkered event would finish with sixth starting Michael Norris crossing the line first over Ryan Montgomery, Colton Flinner, Alex Ferree, and Dylan Cecce in fifth.

With the conclusion of the event, Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Michael Lake of Uniontown, PA clinched the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Points Championship as well as the 2024 Chew On This – Jerky Rookie of the Year Campaign with three events left at Pennsboro Speedway October 24-26, 2024.  Lake, who set fast time, finished the weekend with a fourth place finish in heat race number one, and a 10th place finish in Saturday’s Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series “Ken Schaltenbrand Sr Memorial” at Lernerville Speedway. Lake thus far with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series in 2024 has had seventeen starts, eleven top tens, six top fives, six heat race wins, one fast time, and one trip to victory lane!  He ends with 451 points on the 2024 year!  Congratulations to Michael Lake and Bobby Lake Motorsports on the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Championship and the 2024 Chew on This – Jerky Rookie of the Year Campaign.
