Montgomery Second In Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Fueled By VP Racing Fuels 25th Anniversary Season Championship!

(Pittsburgh, PA) — Fairmont, West Virginia native Ryan Montgomery finished second in the 2025 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series (ULMS) Fueled By VP Racing Fuels Points Championship behind Champion Mason Zeigler in a tight points battle that came down to the unexpected final event of the 2025 season on Sunday, September 21, 2025, which came with a trip to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane in the annual Fall Fest event.
The series had been slated to conclude with several dates in West Virginia, including Beckley Motor Speedway’s USA 100 and Pennsboro Speedway’s Mason Dixon 75. However, with both events being canceled due to scheduling and weather-related issues, Zeigler’s impressive campaign officially sealed his spot as the 2025 United Late Model Series Champion.
Consistency With New Team — JWR
Montgomery entered 2025 unsure of his plans, but after partnering with West Virginia’s Josh Wamsley and JWR, the team decided to make a championship run—Ryan’s third consecutive United Late Model Series campaign and Wamsley’s first as a team owner.
The season began on a high note with a hometown victory at Tyler County Speedway, where Montgomery captured the Topless 50 Earl Hill Memorial in front of a packed West Virginia crowd. From there, the #12m JWR team became a model of consistency, finishing inside the top ten in every United Late Model Series event for the remainder of the year.

It was truly a family-driven effort: Ryan’s fiancée Jayla managed the team’s merchandise trailer at each track, while his father Jeff and longtime crew member Brad Nolte handled wrench duties in the pit area.
Montgomery closed the year with another win in Close Racing Supply Victory Lane at Latrobe Speedway, marking his second United Late Model Series triumph of the season. The rebound was especially meaningful after the team’s 2024 championship campaign was derailed by personal obligations, forcing them to step back midseason.
Montgomery’s consistent performances and determination secured him second place in the 2025 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Fueled By VP Racing Fuels Championship just 95 points behind Champion Mason Zeigler.
We thank Ryan Montgomery, Josh Wamsley, and the entire JWR team for their continued commitment and support of the United Late Model Series and look forward to seeing the #12m back in action for the 2026 season.
