Jared Miley of Pittsburgh PA made his first ever appearance to Outlaw Speedway in Dundee NY for the Steve Kent Memorial Summer Nationals. Miley set second fast time in Integra Shock Qualifying behind new late model rookie, Dylan Cecce who set overall fast time. Both Cecce and Miley won their heat races and during the Jays Auto Wrecking Redraw Cecce drew the pole with Miley redrawing the number 2 spot for the 30 lap event.
With fireworks going off and the field heading to the Zimmer Service Center starting zone, Cecce and Miley took the green flag and raced into turn one and two side by side with Miley powering around Cecce to grab the lead on lap one. The first and only caution came out for Kevin Smith for a turn three spin after apparent unintentional contact with Ryan Montgomery.
The field restarted with the ULMS Delaware Restart that saw Miley retain his lead over Cecee and Wyatt Scott now grabbing third from Greg Oakes. Dan Stone was working the top side trying to get to the top five chasing after West Virginia driver, Montgomery. As the laps clicked off Miley pulled away from the field as Oakes stayed within striking distance of Scott and Montgomery looking for either of them to make a mistake. Local, Brian Knowles disposed of Stone for sixth and was impressing everyone with his fine run. The Addison NY driver has had multiple wins and laps on the Outlaw oval. At the checkers it was Miley by over 7 seconds ahead of Cecce who competed in his third super late model event and came home a impressive second over Wyatt Scott, Oakes and Montgomery.
