Michael Norris of Sarver picked up his fourth ULMS win of the 2021 season to close out the 2021 Zimmer’s Service Center United Late Model Series Million Dollar Tour with the $3000 to win Steel City Stampede at his home track Lernerville Speedway.

For the first time in 8  years, the ULMS Late Model Series returned to Lernerville Speedway and the multi day season track finale.   2015 series champion, Jared Miley set the stage Friday night with the Integra Shocks Fast Time of 15.278 seconds.   Miley, Norris and Alex Ferree were the three heat winners Friday night with Norris capturing the Jays Auto Wrecking Pole Scramble to earn the top starting spot for Saturday’s 30 lap main event.

The start of the 30 lap feature saw the Daytona big one in turn one with nine cars getting caught up on the opening lap incident.   Colin Burke was the only casualty of the group of car that were not able to continue.  Two more cautions before lap 2 was event completed as the start of the event was brutal.  Eventually Norris was able to get some racing as he held Miley and Ferree at bay getting thru lap traffic with Ryan Montgomery and Tyler Dietz battling for fourth.

The event had several cautions throughout the event and on every restart Norris in the Todd Cerenzia owned #02 Rocket Chassis would motor away from Miley and Ferree.   The runnerup duo had several great side by side battles in lap traffic as they tried to stay with Norris.   A lap 28 restart would give them one more chance to pull off  late race lead change over Norris but on the restart Miley jumped over the cushion in turns 1 and 2 and would fall from third to ninth with Ferree ahead of Montgomery in the Terry Suppa owned #4s Lazer Chassis with Tyler Dietz and Logan Zarin coming from the lap 1 incident to enter the top five.   As the field took the final lap, Norris was not challenged but all eyes were on Miley who made it three wide down the backstretch going into turn 3 to go from 9th to salvage a disappointing 6th place finish.   Following Norris was Ferree in the Lynn Geisler #1c Cochran Automotive Rocket followed by Montgomery, Dietz and Zarin.
