After a successful two day swing in western Pennsylvania last weekend the Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series rolls into the 4th of July weekend with a pair of $3000 to win events at its home track McKean County Raceway and Thunder Mountain Speedway.
The 4th of July holiday weekend kicks off on Thursday June 30th at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, PA. The home track of the ULMS Racing Series hosts the first super late model event of the 2016 season with the $3000 to win Dick Rice Memorial in honor and memory of Smethport resident and avid MCR race fan. The very next night the ULMS Late Model Series will head down Route 219 to Brookville PA to Bo Lockwood’s Thunder Mountain Speedway for another $3000 to win event. Series point leader and defending champion, Jared Miley won last year at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
Both events will be under the ULMS Racing Series rules and race procedures with race teams Hot Lap Qualifying for their heat qualifying positions, with the top finishers redrawing for the top starting positions in the 30 lap main events. Consolation events if needed will fill the starting field with ULMS Jay’s Auto Wrecking Elite Racers provisionals if needed.
Entry fee is $30 per event and Thunder Mountain Speedway will be utilizing the RED AMB Transponders for qualifying and scoring. MCR electronic scoring will be determined in the near future whether it be the Yellow Westhold Transponders or the Red AMB Transponders.
The Series is working on a possible Saturday July 2nd date if all details can be finalized in the very near future. This would give the series a possible nine to ten thousand dollar to win weekend. Stay tune.
