The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series made its third and final visit of the year to Bob Reis, Freedom Motorsport Park in Delevan NY.  The third event featured the super late models and the outlaw modifieds together on the same card.  Max Blair would pick up his second ULMS win of the  year, both coming at Freedom by passing Chris Hackett with 8 laps remaining for the very popular win.

Greg Oakes and Andy Boozel paced the 21 car starting field to legendary flagman, John Powell’s green flag only to see the yellow coming out immediately as turn one became a parking lot with Bobby Rohrer retiring for the evening after a very hard luck weekend of racing.  On the restart, Boozel took the lead from Oakes and as lap one was completed the cars of Joe Layfeld and John Weaver got hooked together on the front stretch to bring out the yellow one more time.  The restart saw Hackett take the lead from Boozel as Oakes slid back to third when the third yellow of the event came out with only two laps in for Brent Rhebergen who made hard contact with the turn 1 wall.

The restart was wild as the field was three wide a spots in turn 1 and 2 with Russ King going to the top side and had big head of steam going into turn 3 to make a bold move but he would collect the wall with his right rear and keep going, just losing spots and momentum.  Cody Egner would bring out the yellow with a turn 4 spin on lap 4.   Restart saw August Freedom winner and series point leader, Dave Hess Jr jump into the runner up spot behind Hackett.  Hess hounded Hackett till lap nine when the yellow lights flashed for Joe Layfield.  Hackett and Hess along with Brady Wonderling, Oakes, Blair and King scooted away from the field on the restart with Hackett and Hess setting a blistering pace, when near disaster happened on lap 13 when Hess barely missed the slowing car of Layfield in turn four and losing second to Blair who had his eyes set on Hackett.  Blair would get under Hackett and briefly take the lead as the field was working on lap 20 when the yellow lights flashed again for Layfield in turn 4.  The restart had Hackett still the leader with 19 laps in the books.  On the restart the yellow immediately came out when John Weaver tried to knock down the front stretch wall and was finished for the night.  Hackett again had the lead on the restart with Blair, Hess, Wonderling and King breathing down his neck.  Lap 22 would see Blair take the front spot from Hackett coming out of turn 2.  As Blair distanced himself from Hess and Hackett, the battle for second would see Hess grab it with four to go as Greg Oakes was scratching his way back into fifth with a three car battle with Wonderling and King.  At the finish it was Blair over Hess, Hackett Wonderling and Oakes rounding out the top five.
