The Zimmer Service Center United Late Model Series made its maiden voyage below the Mason Dixon line to the Greater Cumberland Raceway. Local fan favorite and hot shoe, Matt Cosner would find Close Racing Supply victory lane for his first career ULMS win and take home the $3000 prize money.

Gregg Satterlee would set Integra Shocks Qualifying quick time with 20.046 seconds followed by Trevor Feathers, Bryan Bernheisel, David Scott and Max Blair. The three heat winners Satterlee, Feathers and Cosner.

Cosner and Feathers would pace the field to the green with Cosner immediately with Feathers in tow followed by Ryan Montgomery, Satterlee and Bernheisel. The first yellow came out on lap 1 for Bernheisel spinning in turn three. On the restart, Cosner again pulled away from field as Montgomery took second from Feathers, with Blair taking fourth from Satterlee. Five laps down, Cosner had opened up a ten car length lead over Montgomery with Blair now pressuring Feathers, while Gary Stuhler was lurking on Satterlee’s rear spoiler. Lap 10 saw Cosner by ten car lengths but closing on lap traffic while the top five stayed the same with Stuhler still in sixth followed by Gene Knaub, David Scott, Wyatt Scott and Drake Troutman.

At the half way point, Cosner had caught the lap traffic and the top four all tighten up to make the race a little more interesting. With ten to go, Cosner had a six car length lead over Montgomery with Feathers and Blair running together for second. The yellow lights flashed again on lap 20 for Wayne Johnson who shredded a right rear tire bringing out the caution.

On the restart, Feathers would grab second from Montgomery. This allowed Cosner to pull away. Lap 26 would see Blair grab third from the #12 of Montgomery as Satterlee was fending off the battle from Stuhler again. The final four laps clicked off as Cosner wasn’t pressured and went on to win his first career ULMS Late Model Series win over Feathers, Blair, Montgomery, Satterlee, Stuhler, Knaub, Wyatt Scott, David Scott and Jim Yoder rounding out the top ten.

With Blair’s third place finish he would secure his third straight Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series championship, with Wyatt Scott grabbing securing second in the points over his father, David and also taking the 2020 Chew on This Jerky ULMS Rookie of the Year honors.
