Challenges arise early for multiple Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Drivers on the Jay’s Automotive United Late Late Model Series tour at the “Pot of Gold – 75” event that took place last Saturday at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor    Speedway.

Currently there are eight drivers contracted to compete in all twenty-one events scheduled on the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series tour in 2024.  Of those eight, two had mechanical failures while another two left the track with one less car.

Logan Zarin of Moon Township, Pennsylvania would appear to have taken the largest hit in an early red flag incident in the twenty-five lap main event alongside other Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Ryan Montgomery.  Zarin would eventually need two wreckers to remove his #1z Rocket Chassis from the speedway after the incident which saw him hit several times.  He walked away from the incident unharmed.  After speaking with Zarin and his father Jim Zarin the following day, it was noted the car was not salvageable nor were most of the components on it.  A massive hit to the #1z team early in the year.  They have notified series officials that Rocket Chassis is working on getting them another XR1 frame to build another car.  The team does currently have another car idling by at their race shop and hopes to continue to be able to contend for a Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Championship this year.

Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, West Virginia was caught up in the same incident which saw his #12 Rocket Chassis literally be ran over as the #28D of Del Rougeux had nowhere to go in the split second incident that saw the event’s twenty minute red flag. Montgomery walked away from the incident unharmed. Montgomery’s Rocket Chassis had only just been finished the previous week from Rocket Chassis, and after talking to partial team owner Jeff Montgomery Sunday afternoon;  he noted it was already sent down to Rocket for repairs.  As for now, their Rocket Chassis XR1 powered by Clements Race Engines is already back and ready for action.  The team also has a Capital Race Car ready to use when or if needed.

Newcomers in 2024 to the tour Dylan Fenton of Clearfield, Pennsylvania and Dylan Lewis of Oakland, Maryland both fought mechanical failures all night.  The #56 Rocket Chassis piloted by Fenton struggled with a broken transmission but managed to pull off a sixteenth place finish in the main event.  Lewis and his #44 Rocket Chassis had their part failure early on keeping him from being able to contend for the main event.

Three of the four teams have already notified series officials they are ready for Friday nights event at Williams Grove Speedway paying $4,000.00 to win.  The second event for the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series tour in 2024.  Both series officials and Williams Grove Speedway staff are monitoring the weather closely for Fridays 03.22.2024 event.
