Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Invades Michaels Mercer Raceway Park for $6,000-to-Win Liberty Classic on July 1!

(Pittsburgh, PA) – The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Presented by United Appliances of Pittsburgh returns to Western Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for the Liberty Classic at Michaels Mercer Raceway Park.

The event is shaping up to be the largest Super Late Model race in the speedway’s history, boasting $6,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th, and $500 to start. The appearance marks the Series’ first visit to Mercer in nine years. In its last stop at the 3/8-mile dirt oval, Dave Hess Jr. captured the 2017 Chiller Thriller, parking his No. 44 super late model  in Close Racing Supply Victory Lane.

Located in Mercer, Pennsylvania, the 3/8-mile oval will host the only midweek event of the 2026 ULMS campaign. The Liberty Classic also kicks off a marquee stretch of racing, leading directly into the Second Annual Stars & Stripes Showdown at The Dirt Track at Genesee over the Fourth of July weekend.

“We’re looking forward to an exciting return to Michaels Mercer Raceway Park,” stated ULMS Director Trevor Zuver. “Mercer has been requested by many of our teams and fans, and we’re glad to work with the promotional team to make it happen. The 2025 season featured eight full-time drivers, with seven competing through the final event in September. We expect continued growth in 2026, benefiting the facilities we visit with strong car counts and competitive purses.”

The 2026 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Presented By United Appliances of Pittsburgh schedule is nearly complete, with only one TBA remaining on July 5. Teams will compete across 13 events in New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland for a near $20,000 total cash point fund, in addition to contingencies and bonuses.
