The Zimmer Service Center United Late Model Series (ULMS) IS proud to welcome back Charlie Bauer and Jay’s Auto Wrecking of Edinboro, Pennsylvania for 20th anniversary season. Jay’s Auto Wrecking will be the ULMS Fast Time point champion partner for the ULMS North and South Regions in 2020.
For the 2020 season, the ULMS Late Model Series will award points for the top five overall fastest times of the evening in both the north and south regions. Just like the overall point standings having two sets of points, the Jays Auto Wrecking Fast Time points will have two sets also. The points will be based on the same point procedure as heat race points with overall fast time receiving 5 points with the remaining four drivers receiving 4, 3, 2 and 1 point based on their overall fast time position in the top five. If there is a tie in times, both drivers will receive the points allocated for that time position. Each region Jay’s Auto Wrecking Fast Time Champion will receive $750 at the end of year banquet.
“The fast qualifier season long points fund sounded interesting when it was proposed to me by Chris, stated, Charlie Bauer of Jay’s Auto Wrecking. It’s a race within a race and it adds some additional incentive and interest to the series. Jay’s Auto Wrecking is very happy to support the program and support the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series in its 20th Anniversary season.”
“I am excited about this program. Its different, its unique and I am not sure if there is any series in the country that has something like this, stated ULMS President, Chris Zuver. Charlie and Jay’s Auto Wrecking have been a long-time supporter of the series and regional dirt late model racing for many years with lot of great racers. I think this program will give them some added exposure that they deserve, and it should be interesting to see how these guys keep track of the fast time points for that extra money at the end of the year.”
Don’t forget that the 20th anniversary season for the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Models will kick off with a three-day weekend starting on Friday, March 20 at Williams Grove Speedway and back to back events the following two days at Port Royal Speedway. All three events will be ULMS South Region events.

Joseph “Jay” Bauer started Jay’s Auto Wrecking, Inc. at this same location in 1960 in Edinboro, PA. His eldest son, Charlie, became president in 1989. The youngest son, Thomas” Duke” Bauer, is also an officer in the business, and works as an inventory specialist, among other important duties. Today, Jay’s employs 12 full & part-time workers, and will ship items world-wide.
