Friday night saw the Jay’s Automotive ULMS Late Models make their annual appearance to Path Valley Speedway for the Night of Power presented by Dr Crouse. The 35 lap event paying $3500 to win saw teams from three states on hand.

Series point leader Tyler Emory set the early pace with Dylan Cecce right behind him at the start and Kyle Lee in third. Ryan Montgomery was in the chase behind Cecce and Lee running the top side with Kyle Hardy used the low lane to quickly advance into fifth with Andrew Yoder in sixth driving the Larry Baer #0. Montgomery would use the high lane to get around Lee and Cecce and then take the lead over Emory. The trio of Montgomery, Emory and Hardy had the fans on their feet and Hardy would take the top spot on lap 10. As the laps quickly rolled off the board with the 11 second laps Hardy would start to distance himself from Montgomery who would slip back to third behind Emory and would fight with Lindemuth Laser Etching Fast timer, Kyle Lee. The race would go green to checker and be completed in less than 8 minutes as Hardy and Emory would cross the finish line with the caution lights coming out for Logan Zarin and others in turn 1 and 2 freezing the remainder of the field as the race was completed. Hardy would pick up his fifth career ULMS series win and his first of the year.

On Saturday, the Jay’s Automotive ULMS Late Model Series made its first ever visit to Latrobe Speedway for the Ron Schmuker Memorial paying $5000 to win.

Colton Flinner and Matt Lux paced the 22 car field. Flinner would out race Lux into turn one at the start with Ryan Montgomery taking second as lap one was completed. With five laps in the event it was Flinner by several car lengths over Montgomery in the Suppa 4s followed by Logan Zarin, Dan Angelicchio and Lux. Caution on lap 10 tighten the field back up and giving Montgomery a chance to latch on the rear bumper of Flinner., but it was Alex Ferree taking the lead over Flinner and Montgomery. Ferree in the #1Cochran Aujtomotive would start to open his lead over Flinner and Montgomery with Andrew Yoder in fourth In the Larry Baer #0 Rocket chassis and series point leader Tyler Emory in fifth. The next caution came out on lap 22 for the leader, Ferree who came to a stop on the front stretch ending his bid for five grand. The top six was now Flinner back to the point with Montgomery, Andrew Yoder, Tyler Emory, Michael Norris and Logan Zarin. Flinner would charge to the lead on the restart with Montgomery and Yoder and Zarin quickly to fourth and then third. The yellow lights would come back on with Flinner ahead of Michael Norris, Zarin, Montgomery, and Andrew Yoder. Under the caution Norris would go to pits relinquishing the runner up spot to Zarin. The restart with two laps remaining saw Flinner Zarin, Montgomery, Yoder and Angelicchio your top six with Dylan Cecce in sixth. Flinner would lead the final two laps beating Zarin at the line by two car lengths and Yoder edging Montgomery for third.

In post race inspection, Flinner failed the droop check due to a part failure, resulting in Logan Zarin in taking home the win for his first ever Jay’s Automotive ULMS Late Model Series win.

The Jay’s Automotive ULMS Late Model Series will have a three day weekend starting Friday night at Outlaw Speedway for $5000 to win followed by the first ever visit to Hummingbird Speedway for Grady’s Decision Night paying $3500 to win and Sunday at Bradford Speedway for the USMC Corporal Jason Dunham Memorial also paying $3500 to win.
