Hess Find’s Close Racing Supply at Outlaw

Waterford, Pennsylvania native Dave Hess Jr piloted his #44H Longhorn Chassis to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane for the second second time in 2024 with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Outlaw Speedway.

With 25 entries signed in for competition, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying that saw Drake Troutman set fast time in the #58v Big Frog Motorsports / Viper Motorsports owned Rocket Chassis. Troutman would continue on and claim Rocket Chassis heat race number one, Dave Hess Jr picked up Keizer Racing Wheel heat race number two and Dylan Cecce won Swift Springs heat three. Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw put Thompson, PA’s Dan Stone and Uniontowns, PA’s Michael Lake on the front row.

Lake would jump out the early lead while Troutman pursued around the top. Taking the lead away, Troutman led for several laps before Hess charged from his sixth place starting positon to second. A lap fifteen caution for front runner Dylan Cecce reset the field, Cecce would strike the frontstretch wall ending his chances for the evening. With the restart, it would be all Dave Hess the rest of the way, weaving in and out of lap traffic and keeping space from the podium finishers. Hess would take the checkered flag winning $7,500 with the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series over second running Drake Troutman, third Mike Knight, fourth Michael Lake, and rounding out the top five was Dylan Yoder.

The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series thanks everyone that came out in support of the “Nascar Night / Ted Siri Memorial” event at Outlaw Speedway. The speedway saw it’s largest super late model attendance in years and all in front of a packed grandstands. You can see the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series next at Latrobe Speedway on Saturday, September 21st for the “Fall Fest 2024” paying $5,000.00 to the victor.
