Chew on This Jerky Rookie of The Race – Michael Lake

Lake may not be a rookie in racing in general, but he is a rookie on the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series tour in 2024.  Last Friday March 22, 2024 was only his second ever start at the famed Williams Grove Speedway as well.

Lake signed onto the 2024 Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Program to contend for the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Championship as well as the Chew on This – Jerky Rookie of the Year Award.  Coming out of Friday’s eighth place finish in the United Late Model Series event at Williams Grove, Lake finds himself in third in the championship points and leading the way for the Chew on This – Jerky RoY Award..

Michael Lake pilots the Bobby Lake Motorsports owned #27 Longhorn Chassis with Pro-Power Race Engines.  Lake’s stats from Friday night, eighth in Lindemuth Laser Etching Time Trials, DNF in Keizer Racing Wheels Heat Race number two, and an eighth place finish in the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series A-Main.  After the checkered, Lake’s #27 Longhorn Chassis would bring out a red flag due to a cracked line going to the carburetor which caught the car on fire.  Williams Grove Speedway EMS were quick to the scene and put the fire out as Lake was exiting the vehicle.
