The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series made it’s one and only visit of the 2021 season to The Greater Cumberland Raceway Park. Max Blair started the night off setting the Integra Shocks Fast Time and also won the opening heat and the $100 dollar Jay’s Auto Wrecking Pole Scramble over Gregg Satterlee, Jared Miley and Chuck Clise.
Blair and Satterlee paced the field to the green as the duo did few weeks back at Selinsgrove. Only this time Blair beat Satterlee in the first corner. Blair immediately pulled away from Satterlee as Clise and last years winner, Matt Cosner battled for fourth. By lap 5 Blair had opened 15 car length lead over Satterlee.
Lap 8 saw Blair catching the rear of the field and on lap 10, Blair had to lift for the slower lap traffic allowing Satterlee to close in. At the hallway point Blair stretched his lead over Satterlee by 15 car lengths. Miley was in third a full straightaway behind Satterlee as Clise was still holding off Cosner.
As Blair got into heavy lap traffic, Satterlee and his #22 Rocket closed in within 4 car lengths on lap 19. Heavy lap traffic of seven cars really started to make things interesting as contact by the leaders with lap traffic and Miley had ran down the leaders as well. With 2 laps to go Satterlee was within 4 car lengths of Blair but that was as close as he could get to the #111 who picked up his second ULMS South Region win of the year and his 31st career series win.
The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series will visit Big Diamond Speedway for the first time ever and then visit Port Royal Speedway for May 7 and 8th events. Will anyone have anything for either Blair or Satterlee as they have won all five south region events so far in 2021.
