Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer but it also marks the biggest money weekend of the year for the Zimmer Service Center United Late Model Series.  Over $15,000 is available during the three day holiday weekend at Bedford, Port Royal and Selinsgrove for the ULMS Late Model Series competitors.

Friday August 30 will see the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Models make their inaugural debut to Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway for the annual Labor Day 55 event.  The annual 55 lap main event will award the winner $7055 to win.  It is the largest paying event on the 2019 ULMS tour. 

“We are very excited to be part of the Bedford’s 2019 schedule and sanction their second biggest late model event of the year at the track, stated ULMS Series owner, Chris Zuver.”  Bedford locals of Jeff Rine, Andy Haus, Chuck Clise, Matt Sponaugle and Jeff Johnson will be defending their own turf from defending series champion and current point leader, Max Blair who has a win at Bedford back in 2014.  Joining Blair will be Mike Wonderling Jr, Jason Dobson and David Scott are expected to be on hand for the ULMS series along with regional stars of Rick Eckert, Jason Covert, Matt Cosner, Bryan Bernheisel and Mason Zeigler.

Joining the ULMS Late Models at Bedford are the modifieds, pure stocks, Penn Mar Vintage Club.   Gates open at 5pm with Warm Ups at 7PM and racing beginning at 730PM.  General admission is $22 with Pit admission costing $35.  ULMS Entry fee is $40 for all ULMS competitors. Bedford utilizes the Mylaps Transponder system for all timing and scoring..

On Saturday, August 31 the Juniata County Fair kicks off at Port Royal Speedway with the16th annual Butch Renninger Memorial for the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series.  Last year, Tyler Bare picked up his only ULMS win during the Renninger Memorial.   This year’s 33lap main event will pay $4033 to win.

The Renninger family have again put together many bonuses during the event with each heat winner receiving $333 while second and third place finishers receiving $100 in their heats along with fast time awards, hard charger awards and lap money for the event.  

Dylan Yoder currently leads the Port Royal Speedway late model points over Haus, Rine, Nick Dickson and Mike Lupfer.  Yoder Nation will no doubt be in full force as Dylan will be looking for his first ULMS win since 2013 at his home track.   Blair will be looking to improve from his two top five finishes at Port Royal in March during the Chiller Thriller weekend.

The Renninger race will pay $333 to start and $550 for tenth place finish.   Gates open at 330pm with racing beginning at 630pm   Adult Admission is $22 with Students being $10 and children 12 and under are free.  Pit Passes are $35 and ULMS Entry Fee is $40 for the Renninger Memorial.  Port Royal Speedway uses the Mylaps transponder system for all timing and scoring.

On Sunday, September 1st the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series head to Selinsgrove Speedway for the Ray Tilley Classic weekend with a 30 lap $4000 to win event on the table, presented by Selinsgrove Ford. 

Coleby Frye is the current point leader heading into the final week of Selinsgrove points before next weekends ULMS show.  Frye no doubt will be looking to grab his first ever ULMS series win during the Labor Day weekend and there no place better than his home track at Selinsgrove.   Bryan Bernheisel sits second in Selinsgrove points and he picked up his first career ULMS win last month at Clinton County.  They along with Brett Schadel, Hayes Mattern, Donnie Schick, Jim Yoder and Ken Trevitz will all be looking for their first career ULMS win at Selinsgrove.

Joining the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Model Series will be the 410 sprint cars, pro stocks and road runners.    Grandstands admission is $20 with Students $10, kids 11 and under are free and all pit passes are $35.  ULMS Entry Fee is $40.  Selinsgrove Speedway uses the Mylaps transponder system for all timing and scoring.  Race time is 7pm with gates opening at 4pm.

ULMS Racing Series procedures will be in place, which includes time trials, minimum 8 lap qualifying heat events, consolation events (if needed) and 30 lap main event (exception for Bradford being 40 laps). Time Trials per ULMS rules will be the following: 3 heats will be straight up; 4 heats will result in A&B group qualifying. If there are 4 heats or less, the top 2 heat finishers will redraw for their feature starting positions, otherwise, heat winner only will redraw (5 or 6 heats).

The ULMS Late Model Series tire rule is Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder on all 4 corners. All late model teams must present their cars along with safety equipment (helmet and Hans device if they have not participated with ULMS in 2019 or entering a different car) at pre-race safety and car inspection.

No cars will be allowed on the track before completing tech.  Any driver late for tech will have only their first lap in qualifying will count once they complete and pass pre-race tech.  ULMS Integra Shocks Qualifying Time Trials will be held to determine the qualifying heat race lineups.
