United Late Model Series 2026 Championship Weekend Set to Commence at Potomac Speedway!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Presented By M&T Appliances and Fueled By VP Racing Fuels turns its attention to the Darryl Hills Memorial this Saturday, October 24, as the series prepares to crown its 2026 United Late Model Series Champion and bring its 26th season of competition to a close.
The event marks the first-ever appearance of the United Late Model Series at the high banks of Potomac Speedway in Mechanicsville, Maryland. The $6,500-to-win Darryl Hills Memorial features a $25,175 main event purse, along with an additional $3,100 in bonus incentives available to participating teams, bringing the total event payout and incentives to $28,275.
The season-ending showdown is expected to attract many of the region’s top Super Late Model competitors, with teams anticipated from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and surrounding states as the series makes its inaugural visit to the Maryland facility.
While the racing action promises plenty of excitement, the 2026 United Late Model Series Championship could be decided before the first green flag even waves.
Current points leader Jon Lee enters Championship Weekend in control of his own destiny. Simply registering for Saturday’s event would award Lee the guaranteed 100 show-up points, mathematically securing his first career Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Championship over second-place Bryan Bernheisel and third-place Dylan Lewis.
Lee also enters the season finale atop the Chew On This – Jerky Rookie of the Year standings, leading fellow contenders Bryan Bernheisel, Ken Schaffer, and Kevin Smith in the battle for the prestigious rookie honors.
With both the overall championship and Rookie of the Year honors on the line, Saturday’s event carries significant importance beyond the $6,500 winner’s payday.
One thing is certain: A new name will be etched into United Late Model Series championship history when the checkered flag falls on the Darryl Hills Memorial, closing the book on the series’ 26th season of Super Late Model competition.
The United Late Model Series looks forward to an exciting Championship Weekend as the series makes its debut at Potomac Speedway and celebrates another season of competition across the region.
