Mason Zeigler WINS Third Straight United Late Model Series Event Friday Night at Selinsgrove!

Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania native Mason Zeigler picked up his third straight Jay’s Automotive United Late Modes Series Victory Friday night at Selinsgrove Speedway piloting his #25z Rocket Chassis to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane!

Zeigler extended his point lead on then second place Brock Pinkerous in the 2025 United Late Model Series Championship Point Standings! This win puts him at four wins with the United Late Model Series through seven events in 2025.

Pinkerous who had been running second in the 2025 United Late Model Series experienced engine failure in hot laps resulting in a DNS for the night and the #555 team was awarded 100 show points. He know sits fourth after Friday’s event and moves to second behind Logan Zarin in the Integra Shocks Challenge Series worth $5,000.00!

With twenty-three entries on site and twenty-five signed in for competition, the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series set out for Hot Laps that saw chaos. With the third and final session the current #ULMS Point Leader Mason Ziegler made hard contact with the outside wall in turn number two forcing him to retire to a back up car for the remainder of the night. Fellow #ULMS Elite Driver Brock Pinkerous experienced engine failure ending their night prematurely as well while others such as Rick Eckert and Byran Bernheisel were forced to head pitside.

Qualifying saw Hayes Matter set quick time. With three heats for the evening, Mattern jumped out to a quick lead over second starting Jeff Rine. Meanwhile behind them, fifth starting Mason Zeigler hammered the top of the racetrack quickly gaining. At the checkered it was Mattern, Zeigler and Rine to round out the top three. Veteran driver’s Jim Bernheisel and current favorite to win Rick Eckert completed the front row in Heat Race Number Two. A side by side race for the top spot would ensue with Eckert coming out on top utilizing the highside of the racetrack while Bernheisel piloted his #31 Lazer Chassis to a second place finish locking himself into the redraw. jumped out to an early lead over second running Gregg Satterlee to lock them both into the redraw. Lazer Chassis filled the front row in the third and final United Late Model Series Heat Race with Chad Homan and Bryan Bernheisel. Homan quick to jump out front, meanwhile Bernhesiel would fall back all the while Gregg Satterlee kept his #22 right in contention. Fourth starting Logan Zarin was quick to move up passing each team to take home the win over Homan and Satterlee.

Zeigler and Mattern led the field to green in the thirty-five lap Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series main event! Zeigler immediately took an early lead while Matten , Homan, and Eckert all battled for the second position. By lap nine Zeigler already reached lap traffic putting the 80D of Greg Diehl a lap down, meanwhile behind him Logan Zarin, Ryan Montgomery, and Spike Moore were working their way up through the field. Contact on lap fourteen between Mattern and Zeigler in turn number three for the lead would result in Mattern being sent to the tail after spinning. Back to green, Zeigler once again pulled away in open air from Eckert and Satterlee meanwhile Moore was gaining quickly from his tenth place starting spot. With ten to go Zeigler found lap traffic once again, tenth starting Moore moved into the second position over Ekert and Satterlee and began closing the gap on Zeigler. Early mover Logan Zarin began to fade with a right front vibration on the #1z. Side by side racing continued till the waiver of the white flag where Moore stole the lead from race long leader Mason Zeigler in lap traffic. A near repeat of Zieglers Stars & Stripes Showdown Prelim with the United Late Model Series, however history didn’t repeat itself as Zeigler got his #25z to stick on the top of turn one and two and drive around both the #11 of Moore and the lap car of Dave Stamm in his #10s piloting his car to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane pocketing $7,500.00!

The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Fueld By VP Race Fuels next event is a trip to the Empire State on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Outlaw Speedway for a $10,000.00 to win event.
