Hardy goes back to back at Path with the United Late Model Series for the “Night of Power”!
Stephens City, VA resident Kyle Hardy captured his first Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series victory of the year Friday night at Path Valley Speedway Park in the in Zach Crouse’s “Night of Power”. Worth $5,000.00, it was one of the richest paying late model events the speedway has seen and Hardy has now put himself in Close Racing SupplyVictory Lane for the last two events the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series have put on at the speedway.
With 22 entries, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying which saw Hayes Mattern set fast time. Mattern would go on and lead wire to wire ]winning Rocket Chassis heat race number one, Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Michael Lake won Keizer Racing Wheels heat race number two. Dillan Stake won Swift Springs heat race number three. Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw put Uniontown, PA’s Michael Lake and Mapleton Depot, PA’s Dillan Stake on the front row.
After a swift intermission, the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series took the green flag for the thirty lap “Night of Power” main event. Two early cautions had reset the field, with Lake out front on the Delaware Double File Restarts. Lake went onto to lead the majority of the event before eventual victory Kyle Hardy worked his around him on the outside in lap traffic.
Tragically to begin the event for the night, 2023 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Champion and Chew on This Rookie of The Year recipient Tyler Emory saw his night come to an early end. After completing Integra Shocks Qualifying, Emory and his team decided to load his #72 Rocket Chassis up and call it a night due to pain throughout his back and hips. It is undecided at this time by the Cameron-Mann Construction #72 team if they will continue to compete on tour in 2024 or if their season has come to a premature close. We ask that everyone thinks about Tyler and give him time to heal so he can get back out onto the track.
The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series thanks everyone that came out in support of the seventh annual “Mike Farr Memorial” and the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series as they returned Eriez Sunday in honor of Mike Farr. The track prep team put together an excellent surface for the teams to navigate around the ⅜ mile dirt oval with teams racing from the top to the bottom. Next up for the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series is Path Valley Speedway’s “NIGHT OF POWER” paying $5000 to win and $500 to start Friday, July 19th, 2024.
