Troutman Sweeps The Night At McKean!

Hyndman, Pennsylvania resident Drake Troutman captured his second ever career Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series victory worth $4,000.00 last night at the Smethport, Pennsylvania ⅜ mile Mckean County Raceway, this put him back in Close Racing Supply Victory Lane.  Tonight’s event makes Troutman three for three on podium appearances with the series in 2024.

A swift program was pushed out by Series Director Trevor Zuver as they worked closely with the staff at McKean County Raceway.  Track promoter Kurt & Bonnie Stebbins were able to bring what may have been the best track surface the speedway has seen in several years! Delivery two and three wide racing throughout the night.  Not to mention what may have been a record crowd for the newfound promoters at McKean County Raceway.  Elbow’s Up Dirt Productions CEO Thomas Cordell kept the fans on the edge of their seats all night as he announced the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series portion.  As the night progressed, Cordell was continually pushing the crowd into an electric state and they loved it.  Teams, drivers, and fans alike were ecstatic to see the first super late model event make its way back to the track in nearly three years.

With 19 entries, the Jay’s United Late Model Series set out for Lindemuth Laser Etching Qualifying which saw Drake Troutman set a blistering fast time overall at 15.766 over the rest of the field.  Troutman would go on to lead wire to wire and win Rocket Chassis heat race number one, Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Logan Zarin won Keizer Racing Wheels heat race number two.  Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver Ryan Montgomery won Swift Springs heat race number three.  Three Rivers Karting & Entertainment Park redraw left Oakland, Maryland’s Dylan Lewis and Uniontown, Pennsylvania’s Michael Lake on the front row.  Five of the top six would all be Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Drivers to start the night.

After a swift intermission, the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series took the green flag at approximately 9:00PM.  Third starting Tyler Emory would spin out in turns three and four on lap one bringing out the first caution of the night, Dylan Lewis on lap 12 would come to a rest atop turn four as well after succumbing to damage received prior. By lap four, Drake Troutman powered by the #27 of Lake in his Longhorn Chassis #7 and wouldn’t look back leading from lap four until the checkered at lap 30 putting himself back in Close Racing Supply Victory Lane and leaving $4,000.00 richer.
