Three Day Swing Created as Tyler County’s “Topless 50” Rescheduled & Tri-City Added to 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Schedule!
May’s rained out “Topless 50” at Tyler County Speedway has now found its third date on the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series schedule. After two cancellations, the “30th Annual Topless 50” will now take place on Saturday August 10, 2024! Those that were in attendance for the May 26, 2024 canceled event and paid a registration fee to the series will have theirs honored at this event unless the team already utilized it for a previous event leading up. After over a week of deliberating over dates with United Late Model Series CEO, Trevor Zuver and Tyler County Speedway General Manager, Daniel Patterson it was decided that this would best fill the teams, fans, track, and series. With the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series visiting Lernerville Speedway the day before, race teams and fans can now make the drive straight down I-79 to Tyler County, pairing the events will help keep travel expenses low compared to finding a date by itself. The $5,000.00 to win topless event will look to be a great test for those gearing up for the LOLMDS “Hillbilly 100” taking place a couple weeks later as well.
With the rescheduling of the “30th Annual Topless 50”, new found promoter of Tri-City Speedway, Josh Shiffer was eager to put something special together. Shiffer reached out to United Late Model Series CEO, Trevor Zuver weeks previous in which Zuver declined without an event to pair with it. After speaking with Tyler County and having the Lernerville Speedway event already scheduled, the dates aligned to bring the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series back to Tri-City Speedway on Sunday August, 11, 2024 in what is currently to be a $5,000.00 to win / $500.00 to start event. This will be the first super late model event at the speedway under the promotion of the Shiffer’s and the return of the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series to the Tri-City Speedway for the first time in several years.
The three swing starting Friday August 9, 2024 at Lernerville Speedway for the 4th Annual “Willie & Conda McConnell Memorial ” paying $4,500.00 to win / $500.00 to start with nearly $3,000.00 in lap money and still counting will now look to be one of the most lucrative weekends for the Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Teams on tour. With the two additions to the weekend at Tyler County and Tri-City, nearly $60,000.00 in purse money will be paid out. If someone were to sweep the weekend they would walk away with nearly $17,000.00 as of now!
Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Drivers, Tyler Emory, Ryan Montgomery, Logan Zarin, Dave Stamm, Dylan Fenton, Dylan Lewis, & Michael Lake are all expected for the three day swing. Currently Michael Lake sits atop the point standings for both the championship and the Chew On-This Jerky Rookie of The Year Award. Lake piloting his #27 Longhorn Chassis powered by Pro Power Racing Engines on Bilstein Shocks has been dominating the 2024 race season picking up unsanctioned wins at Marion Center Speedway, Elkins Speedway, and Ohio Valley Speedway! Still searching for his first visit to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane with the tour in 2024, but with plenty of racing left in the season it won’t be a surprise to Lake holding the checkers up at a speedway soon!
2023 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Champion and Chew On-This Jerky Rookie of the Year Tyler Emory sits second! Emory already with a win on the tour at the famed Williams Grove Speedway sits two points behind leader Michael Lake. Emory piloting his #72 Rocket Chassis powered by Pro Power Racing Engines is always one to watch. Especially with the next visit on tour at Bradford Speedway where Emory picked up one of his many wins on tour in 2023! Emory just picked up another unsanctioned win last week at Clinton County Speedway, last year’s champion has looked to pick up right where he left off.
Fairmont, West Virginia’s Ryan Montgomery in his second year on tour sits just six points behind Lake. Montgomery has yet to find Close Racing Supply Victory lane in 2024 with the tour, but fresh off a crate late model victory at Dog Hollow Speedway may give the driver of the #12 Rocket Chassis on Fox Shocks the confidence boost needed for him to cross the finish line first! Montgomery, no stranger to the tracks coming up next on the schedule will be one to look out for!
Veteran driver from Millmont, Pennsylvania Dave Stamm sits fifth in championship point standings. Stamm, one of the longest tenured teams on the tour continues to build a notebook for these tracks having everlasting fun with his family in the process. The self owned team will look to move up in the standings especially as we come into the “Jason Dunham Memorial”, Thursday July 4, 2024 at Bradford Speedway!
Chew On-This Jerky Rookie of the Year contender Dylan Fenton of Clearfield, Pennsylvania sits sixth! His Fenton Family Racing owned #56 Rocket Chassis on Integra Shocks has been improving each night they have hit the speedway. Building a notebook off the 2024 season as the family has yet to race at the majority of the speedway’s that the Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series visits.
Logan Zarin of Moon Township, Pennsylvania in his second year on tour sits seventh currently after disaster struck opening night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania totaling their #1z Rocket Chassis, thankfully Zarin was able to walk away uninjured from the red flag incident. Rocket was quick to get the #1z a new car to keep the team with two in the stable, unable to finish the event opening night put them behind in the points chase. Currently, their new Rocket Chassis on Integra Shocks powered by Pro Power Racing Engines has been up front coming a second place finish at Lernerville Speedway last friday!
Lastly Chew On-This Jerky Rookie of the Year contender Dylan Lewis of Oakland Maryland is tied with the competitor Logan Zarin with 40 points! Lewis piloting his #44 Rocket Chassis is chasing not only his first visit to Close Racing Supply Victory Lane with the series, but visiting new tracks nearly every night while his team follows along as a Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver!
Currently Tyler Emory, Ryan Montgomery, and Dylan Fenton are all looking to gain an additional $500.00 if the point standings stay the same for competing in their Rocket Chassis on tour in 2024! Dave Stamm is set to gain a set of shocks valued at $5,000.00 from Integra Racing Shocks if he can maintain his lead in the point standings for those signed up to the Integra Shocks Program. Fenton, and Zarin are both several points behind, but with plenty of racing left anything is possible.
Other contingencies include a team suit from Velocita-USA to the 2024 champion, certificates to throughout the top 5 as well. Keizer Racing Wheels, Swift Springs, Hot Shoe RaceWear, and Beyea Headers have all put up contingency awards for the Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Drivers at the 2024 Championship Banquet.
