The A-TRAIN Alex Ferree Wins Nathan Lauer Memoiral at Marion Center

Alex Ferree picked up his first Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series win since 2017 Saturday night at Marion Center and took home the $5000 prize money for the Nathan Lauer Memorial at Marion Center Raceway.
The event started with track point leader, Jon Lee on the front row and taking the lead at the start over Matt Lux. Lee set a torrid pace with Lux in tow followed by Ferree. Ferree would get by Lux and Ryan Montgomery would move into third a short time later running the bottom grove as the two top runners ran the lip around the 1/3 mile oval.

As the race laps clicked off Ferree closed in on Lee as Montgomery was still in third and series point leader, Jared Miley had been steam rolling thru the field and was in the top five making his charge to the front. Ferree would grab the lead from Lee with five to go as it appeared Lee’s tires would start to go away. On the restart Lee made a attempt but would see Montgomery go by for second and Miley pouncing into third as Ferree was able to hold off Montgomery in Suppa #1CJ machine, with a fast Miley finishing third over Lee and Lux.
Heat winners were Lux, Ferree and Montgomery with Jon Lee setting Integra Shocks Fast Time of 15.168 seconds.
