We are proud to announce that “The Smooth Operator” Bobby Pierce of Danville, Illinois became first official entry for the ULMS sanctioned, Viper Motorsports promoted 2nd Annual Billy Vacek Memorial that will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Lincoln Speedway.
Today’s announcement comes on Billy’s birthday and his memorial event is still seven and half months away but its already ramping up to be one of regions premier must see dirt late model event. Last years event drew 39 cars, which saw Hall of Famer, Rick Eckert win the inaugural Billy Vacek Memorial which paid $6,000 to win, the 2020 edition is expected to be a minimum of $10,000 to win.
“Shawn and Lisa Martin and the entire Viper Motorsports program have a vision of where to take regional dirt late model racing to the next level and it all started with the 2019 inaugural Billy Vacek Memorial, stated ULMS Racing Series owner, Chris Zuver. I am really excited to have our series be a big part of the Viper Motorsports promotional events including the Billy Vacek Memorial.”
With the announcement of Bobby Pierce officially entering the Billy Vacek Memorial, who will be the next official driver entry? That name should be coming soon, as Eckert is a definite return to defend his last September’s win. This event has the potential to become one of the biggest dirt late model events in the region and a stellar car count is expected.
