MERCER’S CHILLER THRILLER KICKS OFF 2016 UEMS EMOD SEASON

The Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emod Series kicks off its 9th season of action on Saturday March 26 at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania in the annual “Chiller Thriller.” The 25 Lap $1000 to win UEMS Emod series feature will be part of the action that will also feature BRP Big Block Modifieds versus the 358 modifieds, crate late models and open street stocks on the 4 event program.

Defending series champion, Brent Rhebergen of Clymer, New York will not have his new car ready in time for the series opener to defend his crown. 2011 series champion, Joel Watson of Conneaut, OH will most definitely be ready to kick the year off along with 2014 Chiller Thriller winner, Rich Michael Jr of Ischua, NY who has already raced in Georgia earlier this winter. A star studded field of entries are expected to be on hand for the UEMS portion of the Chiller Thriller along with Watson and Michael, the fans can expect to see David Scott a former ULMS Late Model Chiller Thriller winner on hand in the Tim Engles #68 machine, John Woodward of Franklinville, New York, Warren, Pennsylvania driver, Dan Davies, Ken Zimmer of West Springfield, PA, 2012 series champion, Carl McKinney of Cranberry Township, PA along with Ohio drivers, Jeff Johnson, Howard Fraley, Mike Kinney, Sharon Speedway champion, Will Thomas and young Jacob Eucker are also expected to be on hand.

UEMS Series race procedures will be in effect with the normal pill draw, redraw format setting the stage for the 25 lap main event. UEMS Entry fee is $20 upon registering the car during the pill draw. The redraw format will be as follows: Two heats or three heats, the top 3 finishers will redraw while four heats only the top 2 will redraw. Mercer Raceway Park utilitizes the RED AMB transponder for scoring. All teams must have the red AMB transponder and supply their transponder number upon registering. Rentals will be available through the track parts vendor. Pit Gates open at 4pm with Grandstands opening at 430pm and Racing beginning at 530PM.
