APPLEFEST WEEKEND FOR UEMS EMODS AT TRI CITY RACEWAY PARK ON SUNDAY
The 2015 season is coming to a close for Tri City Raceway Park on Sunday as the annual AppleFest event is brought back to the ½ mile oval in Franklin PA. The Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emods will compete in a 25 lap event paying $1000 to win and has seen two different winners grace victory lane this year with Rich Michael Jr and David Scott winning the prior two UEMS events at Tri City.
Brent Rhebergen, who is the all time Emod winner at Tri City Raceway Park currently leads the Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emod points in the Tim Rater #RD1 Bob Pierce chassis by one point over Mike Potosky of Guys Mills. Potosky led 19 of the 20 laps back in August when the UEMS Emods were present at Tri City and he no doubt will be looking to grab his first ever UEMS win. The Taylor boys, Evan and Jonathan are still within striking distance as Jonathan is coming off a big win last weekend at the famous Eldora Speedway. Rounding out the top 10 in points are Howard Fraley, Ken Zimmer, Josh Ferry, Alan Atkinson, Shawn Shingledecker and Michael Jr.
UEMS race procedures will be enforced at this event including pill draw and feature redraw procedures. The feature redraw positions will be based on the following criteria: 2 heats top 3 redraw, 3 heats top 3 redraw and 4 heats top 2 redraw. All restarts will be ULMS Delaware restarts with the second place car having lane choice on the restarts. Transponders are not needed for Sunday at Tri City Raceway Park.
This will be the final Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emod event until October 10 when the series closes out the season at McKean County Raceway for the 10th annual MCR FALL CLASSIC for the 30 lap Rayce & Zoiee Zuver Memorial that will pay $1000 to win plus lap money. More details can be found at the ULMS website at www.ulmsracing.com.
Pit and Grandstands open at 2pm Sunday with Racing at 4pm. Also on the card will be the Johnny Appleseed 50 for Pro Stock, the Apple Cider 25 for RUSH Modifieds, Granny Smith 25 for the 305 Sprints, McIntosh 25 for the Econo Mods, Vintage Modifieds and the Zimmer Service Center UEMS Emods.
