11th ANNUAL STEPHANIE ECKL MEMORIAL AT THUNDER MTN SUNDAY NIGHT
The Zimmer Service Center Inc ULMS Late Models will roll into Bo Lockwood’s Thunder Mountain Speedway in Brookville, Pennsylvania, Sunday night for the 11th annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial. This will be the first ever Eckl Memorial event and ULMS sanctioned event at Thunder Mountain Speedway. The event will pay a minimum of $3500 to win and minimum of $400 to start in the 35 lap main event featuring some of the regions’ top dirt late model teams.
This is the 11th year for the Stephanie Eckl Memorial in memory of Ms. Eckl, who was an avid race fan of former ULMS champion Bob Close. Stephanie lost her life during Thanksgiving weekend after being struck by a drunk driver. Her father, Greg has raised funds each year and has added 100% of all donations to racing purse and in the previous ten years, nearly $50,000 has been donated to the racing purse. This year over $5500 in cash has been added to drivers purse along with $200 for the hard charger and $150 for the fastest qualifier in time trials.

Charlie Powell, Scott Alvetro, Devin Lewis and former ULMS point leader, Bill Davis will be looking to defend their home turf against the tough Zimmer’s Service Center Inc. ULMS outsiders such as point leader, Jared Miley, Max Blair, defending series champion, Jason Dupont, Doug Eck and other regional stars such as Mike Blose and Big Brother Dan Stone will be in attendance.
Gates open at 3 pm with Hot laps beginning at 5pm and racing at 6pm. The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Models will have group qualifying for their qualifying heat starting positions. Normal ULMS race procedures will be held with the top qualifying heat finishers redrawing for the top starting positions in the 35 lap Stephanie Eckl Memorial. Grandstand admission is $15 while children 6-12 yrs of age is $6 and pit passes will be $30. The ULMS entry Fee is $30 for all competitors.
