The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Model Series hit the road for the Firecracker Tour to kick off the 4th of July holiday weekend.  Over $10,000 is up for grabs as the series makes their second visit on the year to Thunder Mountain Speedway on Friday June 30 for a $3000 to win event.   The series rolls down into southern Pennsylvania to Hesston Speedway for its first visit since 2012 for another $3000 to win event and concludes the three day weekend on Sunday at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, PA for the Mike Farr Memorial paying $4100 to win and $410 to start in memory of long time track supporter and owner of Genesis Shocks.

Former two time ULMS champion and current Lucas Oil series driver, Boom Briggs won the ULMS event at Thunder Mtn in April that was cut short by rain.  Defending series champion, Dave Hess Jr will lead the ULMS contingent back to Thunder Mountain Speedway and  he will be supported by the ULMS Close Racing Supply Elite teams of Breyton Santee, Bobby Rohrer, John Weaver, Greg Oakes, Damian Bidwell, Max Blair, Billy Dickson and Kyle Knapp.  The 30 lap event will pay $3000 to win again and the ULMS faithful will have their hands full with Thunder Mtn top cars of two time track winner, Doug Eck, Charles Powell  Jr., Mike Blose, Jason Witherite, Steve Arthurs and others.

Race teams are reminded that pits open at 5pm at Thunder with grandstands opening at 530m and racing at 730pm.   Red AMB transponders are needed and will be used at Thunder Mountain on Friday June 30.

On Saturday, July 1st, ULMS rolls into Hesston Speedway for the first time since October of 2012.  Past ULMS winners at Hesston are Rick Eckert and Tim Fuller.  The night cap will be another 30 lap, $3000 to win event which will see southern Pennsylvania’s top drivers of Andy Fries, Waylon Wagner, Nick Dickson, Mike Mort Tom Decker, Justin Kann, Rick Singleton and many others on hand defending their home turf against the ULMS Elite teams.  Pits open at 3pm with grandstands opening at 5pm and racing beginning at 7pm at Hesston.   Hesston uses the Red AMB Transponders for scoring and timing.

The Firecracker Tour ends on Sunday July 2nd at Eriez Speedway in Hammett PA.  The Mike Farr Memorial will be a 41 lap, $4100 to win event  paying $410 to start.  The $20,000 plus purse will be one of the  highest purses of the year on the ULMS tour along with countless amount of lap money for the event in memory of long time track supporter, area driver supporter and owner of Genesis Shocks.

Dave Hess Jr is point leader at Eriez and with the ULMS Late Model Series, but along with fellow ULMS Elite driver Greg Oakes sitting in second in Eriez points, Bump Hedman, Rich Gardner, Darrell Bossard, Chris Hackett, Jake Finnerty, Steve Kania will all be looking to win on their home turf.  Bob Rohrer, Ma and Rob Blair will no doubt will want to win for their friend Mike Farr as would pretty much the entire field as Farr has been instrumental to so many of the Eriez racers over the years in help.

Eriez gates open at 330m with grandstands opening at 430pm.  Racing begins at 630pm on Sunday July 2nd.  Adult admission is $18, seniors $15, Military $15, Kids (6-15) $8, kids under 5 are free, family pass is $44 and all pit passes are $30.  Race teams are reminded that Eriez uses the yellow Westhold transponder and rentals will be available at the track.

ULMS teams are reminded that ULMS rules and procedures will be in effect with ULMS Hot lap group qualifying taking place and ULMS tire rule of Hoosier 1300 and American Racer 44 or harder compounds are mandatory on all 4 corners at all three events.  Entry fee for each night will be $30.
