The Zimmer Service Center ULMS Series, defending champion and current point leader Dave Hess, picked up his third win of the  year and his first at Freedom after two previous runner-up finishes on Friday.

Brent Rhebergen took the lead from the pole and set a fast pace, with Hess in tow, until the first caution came outl. It was the first of three cautions on lap four, the second being a three car incident and the third when Bump Hedman, backed his #22H machine into the turn 1 wall and knock down it down, resulting in a red flag situation

Hess took the lead as, as he flew past Rhebergen to grab the top spot, with Greg Oakes taking second and pressuring Hess, with Max Blair up to third from his sixth starting spot. Oakes was all over Hess through lap traffic until with Blair letting his presence known also. Blair was making a move on Oakes for second when the two made contact coming out of turn two, with Blair spinning and the yellow lights coming back on.

Hess retained the lead the last half of the event, while Oakes finished second ahead of Blair, who charged through the field and made a late pass of Rhebergen to finish third. Brady Wonderling completed the top five.

Max Blair’s shattered the track record, by being the first Super Late Model with a time under 14 seconds with a time of 13.924.
