Dave Hess Jr swapped the lead in the Zimmer Service Center ULMS feature with Chub Frank leading nearly every lap with Hess at the front through turns one and two and Frank showing the way from turn three to the flag from the time Hess got to second at lap seven, to the final lap when the Waterford speedster edged ahead for the win on the final lap of the 40-lap opening round of the Fourth Annual September Sweep. In the companion twenty lap Waterford Hotel Economod feature was won by Brandon Blackshear, his third Eriez win of the season. Qualifying races were run for the other classes with B-Mains and features to be run on night two. After flipping his Super Late Model onto its roof in turn two during his heat, Breyton Santee made repairs and completed the feature.

Chub Frank and Charles Powell Jr brought the twenty-six Zimmer Service Center ULMS/Plyler Overhead Door Super Late Models to green with Powell pulling to the lead at the end of one lap of the forty scheduled for $4000 to win. At five laps in Powell was leading Frank, Dave Hess Jr, Boom Briggs, and 2016 champion Rob Blair. At six laps Frank got by for the lead and Hess was second a lap later. Briggs came to third at lap thirteen. Jared Miley came into the top five at fifteen laps, displacing Blair, then getting by Powell at sixteen complete. Frank caught the back-markers at seventeen laps with Hess right on his tail. The leaders opened an advantage in traffic on third running Miley by the halfway point with Frank maintaining a one length lead over Hess. At twenty eight laps in Freddie Carpenter came to a stop in turn four, slowing the race for the only time under yellow. For the green it was Frank, Hess, Miley (from eleventh on the grid), Briggs, and Rob Blair. The next five were Steve Kania, Powell, Matt Urban, Darrell Bossard, and John Volpe. Hess immediately challenged for the lead, but Frank wasn’t done, with the two of them side by side at the stripe every lap until the final circuit when Hess edged ahead to a one length lead at the checkers. Miley wound up third with Briggs fourth, and Blair, the 2016 champion, fifth.

The 2016 Eriez Speedway season ended at Eriez Speedway with the Zimmer Service Center United Late Models Series/Plyler Overhead Door Super Late Models racing for $6,000 to win. The United E-Mod Series/Ran-Den Excavating E-Mods raced  for $2,000 to win.  Jared Miley was the big winner, pocketing $6,000 for leading the way to the checkers at the end of fifty laps of ULMS Super Late Model all green flag racing!  The UEMS E-Mod finale, paying $2,000 to win, went to Rich Michael Jr, a former  track champion, who took over at the front only three laps into the event.

The Zimmer Service Center/Ran-Den Excavating E-Mod feature started with Brent Rhebergen and Shane Crotty starting on the front row for the thirty lap grind. Rhebergen led lap one with third starting Rich Michael Jr coming to second. Michael was the leader after three laps with former champion Joel Watson up to fourth and Dan Sasso fifth at five compete. At nine laps in Michael began putting the back markers a lap down. At eleven laps Watson came to third then Jeremy Double spun in turn three, slowing the race under caution for the first time, eliminating Michael’s lead.  After green Watson got by Rhebergen then at twelve complete Rhebergen spun in turn two, leaving the top five Michael, Watson. Dan Sasso, Shane Crotty, and 2016 track champion David Scott. Before the next lap could finish Dennis Lunger spun, with Michael McGee making hard contact and four more cars spinning to avoid contact. At halfway Michael was again opening his lead with Sasso now second, Watson third, Crotty fourth, and Scott fifth. With ten to go Michael had a half straight lead over Sasso, Watson, Crotty, and Scott. Watson got back by Sasso at lap 21 as Michael again reached the tail of the field at lap 23. At the checkers it was Michael, Watson, Sasso, Crotty, and Scott.

 The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS/Plyler Overhead Door Super Late Models were brought to green by Charles Powell Jr and Boom Briggs with track champion Rob Blair starting seventh. The race was scheduled to pay $6,000 to win with a bonus of $2,000 if night 1’s winner Dave Hess Jr, could repeat. Hess started the fifty lap season finale from thirteenth. Briggs jumped into the early lead over Powell with Greg Oakes third. On lap seven Oakes got by Powell for the runner up spot at ten laps in Hess was seventh with Briggs still leading over Oakes, Powell, Chub Frank, Jared Miley, and Max Blair. At fifteen laps Frank was now third with Miley fourth, and Hess up to fifth. Miley was second at twenty laps and took over the lead at twenty one after starting sixth. At halfway Miley had a half straight lead over Briggs, Hess, Frank, and Oakes. Hess got to second at lap 27. At thirty laps Hess was closing on Miley in heavy traffic. Max Blair came to fifth at 33 compete. With ten to go Miley was again lengthening his lead. With eight to go Frank was challenging Briggs for third and was alongside at 43 laps and third at 44. With one to go Max Blair got to fourth. The fifty laps went green from start to finish. The top five at the checkers were Miley, Hess Jr, Frank, Max Blair, and Briggs.
