The 2017 racing season is getting close to open in western Pennsylvania and as always, Mercer Raceway Park will kick off the season with their annual “Chiller Thriller” event, weather pending of course on Saturday March 25.  The Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emod Series fueled by Sunoco of Insinger Performance will kick off their 2017 season.

Last year, “Slowride” David Scott of Garland, PA held off Rich Michael Jr in a very exciting event to grab his only UEMS win of the 2016 season.  The “Chiller Thriller” is expected to have another good field of Emods from Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York on hand for the 25 lap $1000 to win event.

Expected racers to be on hand are defending series champion, Joel Watson, Rich Michael Jr., David Scott, Carl McKinney, Jacob Eucher, Al Brewer, Greg Johnson, Mike Potosky, Mike McGee, Ken Zimmer, Josh Ferry and many others in a very competitive field.

Joining UEMS will be the dirt modifieds in a Big Block vs 358 modified challenge, crate late models and open stocks.  Gates open at 4pm with Hot Laps at 530pm and Racing at 6pm.  Pit Passes are $35 for all pit entrants.  Adult grandstand admission is $17, Senior citizens $15, Students (9-15yrs) $7 and Family Pack is $35.  All  UEMS competitors have a $20 entry fee and all race teams must use the red AMB transponder for scoring.

The 2017 Zimmer’s Service Center UEMS Emod Series fueled by Sunoco of Insinger Performance Champion will be rewarded with a minimum of $1000 championship check and presently the top five will be guaranteed point fund money at the end of the year.  The series is still actively looking for additional race dates to be added to the 2017 schedule.
